My Portfolio - Cottage Style Borders & Cascading Pool
Brief
The new garden was being built when the Designer was asked to look at planting in all areas of the garden. The clients wanted cottage style planting in the borders, raised beds with structured planting in front of the decking and a wild meadow area planted with fruit trees.
Designer’s solution
In the main borders to the rear of the garden the planting included a mix of deciduous and evergreen shrubs, roses, perennials and grasses in mainly pastel shades of purple, pink and white. Box pyramid cones were used to give structure in front of the decking, and perennials were planted to give colour.
A wild flower meadow was sown and planted with plum trees and, to cover the fence, espalier fruit trees were planted. An area of raspberry canes and blackberries were planted behind the meadow area.
