My Portfolio - Five Manholes To Hide
Brief
The clients had recently moved into this property and the garden was a blank canvas. The garden had five visible manholes and these needed to be camouflaged. The clients wanted two discreet patio areas for relaxing, a water feature and planted borders.
Designer’s solution
One patio was built near to the house, whilst a second, raised and covered with a pergola, was built at the far end of the garden. Inset manholes were disguised by being filled with gravel and paving. A water feature was built next to the raised patio and the borders were planted with shrubs, grasses and perennials in a palette of greens, whites, pinks and purples.
