My Portfolio - Rural Garden With Sweeping Borders

Brief

The existing garden was simply a lawn. The brief was to create new borders filled with cottage-style planting to give year-round colour and interest whilst retaining the view of the open countryside.

Designer’s solution

New, large borders were created around a circular lawn. The borders were planted with cottage-style plants set against a backbone of shrubs. Trees were planted to one side of the garden affording uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside and the Great Central Railway. The patio was enhanced with a more formal box hedging filled with evergreen shrubs, bulbs and perennials giving year round interest.
